Tell Major US Retailers: Don't Sell Rainforest Destruction E-mail

Greenpeace: "Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) has been driving Indonesian rainforest destruction at an alarming rate to make throw-away tissue products. This deforestation is not only polluting our climate, but also pushing wildlife like the Sumatran tiger towards extinction. With only 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild, every bit of its dwindling forest habitat matters.

"Here in the U.S., APP is trying to push its “Paseo” brand tissue products onto store shelves across the country. To do so, they are counting on people – and major retailers – to stay in the dark about the dirty secret behind their tissue products. But you can help us change that. Make sure retailers that are selling Paseo products, like Kmart, stop doing so, and that stores not selling it yet, like Walmart, don’t start!" >>Take Action

Eco Tip

Unplug appliances when not in use. Your electronics—computers, TVs, phone chargers—use energy even when they're turned off. Stand-by power can account for as much as 20% of home energy use. Save both energy and money by unplugging your devices, or put them on a power strip that you can turn off when they are not in use.  More tips...
