Tell Major US Retailers: Don't Sell Rainforest Destruction E-mail

Greenpeace: "Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) has been driving Indonesian rainforest destruction at an alarming rate to make throw-away tissue products. This deforestation is not only polluting our climate, but also pushing wildlife like the Sumatran tiger towards extinction. With only 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild, every bit of its dwindling forest habitat matters.

"Here in the U.S., APP is trying to push its “Paseo” brand tissue products onto store shelves across the country. To do so, they are counting on people – and major retailers – to stay in the dark about the dirty secret behind their tissue products. But you can help us change that. Make sure retailers that are selling Paseo products, like Kmart, stop doing so, and that stores not selling it yet, like Walmart, don’t start!" >>Take Action

Eco Tip

Become a vegetarian or vegan, or at least eat less meat. Meat is a big waster of water and energy—and generator of greenhouse gasses. It also exacerbates world hunger. One acre of land yields almost 18 times as much usable protein from plant versus animal sources—356 pounds if used to grow soybeans, 20 pounds if used to raise cattle for slaughter. More tips...
